Suez Canal Transit
SSA Egypt maintains a good relation with Suez Canal Authority and provides a professional Canal transit services to help all types of vessels transiting the key waterway that links Mediterranean Sea with Red Sea. The canal diverse the African Continent from Asia, and provides the shortest maritime route between Europe and the lands around Indian and Western Pacific Oceans. It is one of the world’s most heavily used shipping lanes.
North bound S.C. convoy:
That convoy commenced at 0400 hrs till 0830 hrs at Km. 160 and consists of one group of vessels.
Vessels ahead of the convoy:
Warships, Passenger vessels, Car Carriers, RORO, container vessels with a tonnage over 60000 SC.G.T., vessels and tankers in ballast with a tonnage over 60000 SC.G.T
Vessels at the tail of the convoy:
L.P.G & L.N.G vessels loaded or ballast, Bulk vessels & Tanker vessels over 44ft. draught, this convoy has free run from Suez gulf till Port-Said. First vessel ahead regulates its speed with the last vessel from southbound convoy at Ballah by pass km 54.770
South Bound S.C Convoy:
Starts from 0330 hrs to 0800 hrs and consists of 3 groups of vessels as follows:
Group A:
Vessels anchored in the Northern Anchorage Area consisting of Container vessels draught over 42 ft. draught, VLCCs in ballast over 42 feet draught, and L.P.G., L.N.G. vessels in ballast or loaded.
This group will enter through Port Said Eastern Approach channel.
Group B:
Vessels in Port Said harbor, will arrive the Canal in due time by joining group A at Km. 17.
Group C:
Vessels anchored in Southern Anchorage Area will enter through Port Said western channel in due time to join Group B at Km. 17.
Vessels ahead of the convoy:
Container Vessels, warships, passenger ships, RORO, car carriers vessels with a tonnage over 40000 SC. GT.
